Parenting Groups:

Circle of Security Parenting® Course

  • Birch Therapy offers in-person and virtual Circle of Security® Parenting (COSP) groups throughout the year. This 9-week evidence-informed parenting program is designed to strengthen the parent-child bond and provide valuable insights to navigate the journey of parenthood with confidence. From infancy to teenage years, our sessions delve into attachment theory, child development, and best parenting practices to help you connect with your child during both the highs and lows of parenting.

    Our Offerings:

In-Person and Virtual Groups: Join us either in person or virtually for our COSP groups, providing flexibility to accommodate your schedule and preferences.

Community Outreach: We extend our services beyond individual enrollment and can bring our courses to community groups such as churches and other family-serving organizations.

Founding Principles of the Circle of Security® Model:

    1. Attachment and Psychopathology: Early attachment experiences significantly influence later psychological well-being.

    2. Secure Attachments: Building secure attachment relationships with caregivers is foundational for children's social and emotional development.

    3. Change and Learning: The quality of attachment relationships can be improved, fostering growth and resilience in both parents and children.

    4. Therapeutic Relationship: Meaningful change stems from the development of specific relationship capacities within secure caregiving relationships.

    Who Can Benefit?

Our program is tailored for parents and caregivers seeking to deepen their connections with the children in their lives. While especially beneficial for parents of younger children, the principles are applicable to children of all ages, including adolescents and young adults.
